Garmin 400c Fish Finder
Garmin 400c freshwater and saltwater fishfinder is both versatile and affordable. Coming in at well under $300, the price makes this a very attractive unit. The 400c offers two choices. Choice one is Garmin Fishfinder 400C with Dual-Beam Transducer that is a 400 watt wide fish-finding cone that will allow you to reach depths of 900 feet. How this works is the transducer sends out two beams at 60 degrees from the boat essentialy giving you a wide angle view. You can also opt choice number two. Garmin Fishfinder 400c Dual Frequency Transducer
the 500 watt (RMS) dual frequency transducer sends out one narrow beam that allows you to reach a whopping depth of 1500 feet! Pick your weapon and let the games begin.
Both models of the 400c fishfinder sports an ultra crisp, super bright, 4" QVGA color display screen that also has a night mode function. What makes this model extra special is that it comes equiped with Ultrascroll速 screen updates which means you receive instant updates at live-action speed even while your boat is zipping across the water. Another advanced feature is you can share your sonar information with your other chartplotters because it is CANet-compatible.
Garmin has perfected it's See-Thru technology that allows the 400c to separate fish from Thermoclines. The Depth Contol Gain gives you detailed information on structures on the bottom including bottom density. The alarm systems are programable and include fish depth and water depth.

This is what other users have said about the Garmin 400c Fish Finder:
- The only accessories I needed to buy with this unit is the Garmin Protective cover that I purchased from Amazon for 10 bucks and I also bought the Garmin Speed sensor for an additional $47.00 dollars.
- After going through dozens of reviews I chose the Garmin 400C. This fishfinder is exactly what I wanted and does everything I need. I have another chart plotter and the two units work together seamlessly. Whenever I set it to view my downriggers and flashers, it shows them on my screen at precisely the depth they are located. I can see how the fish are acting with my gear!
- I use my 400c on a lake. Often times we fish in the shallow coves and this unit shows the contours and depths perfectly. This is a great benefit. Along with the color readout, it makes determining objects (fish and old tires) in the water easier.
- For a few hunderd bucks this Garmin 400c is awesome. I use it with my Garmin 496 and two units work together nicely.
